Mission
Through message creation, management, and distribution, the City of Plano Public Information Department communicates the vision, services, and programs of the City of Plano to staff and residents.
The Public Information Department acts as liaison for local, state and national media on behalf of the City of Plano; prepares and facilitates press releases; reviews all City publications, assisting in their development, creation and dissemination; coordinates City ceremonies (ribbon cuttings, ground breakings) and special announcements for the City of Plano and its departments.
The Department provides City-wide communications, creates and produces various informational documents and prepares written and video material for publication and presentation on the City’s Emmy-award winning Plano Television Network.
The content and design of the City of Plano webpage is produced, planned and coordinated through this office.
