Mission

City of Plano Public Information Department is to facilitate and coordinate the City’s internal and external informational efforts.  We strive to communicate to the general public any information that may affect or benefit them as residents or visitors and facilitate internal communications that foster an informed and service-driven employee team.

The Public Information Department acts as liaison for local, state and national media on behalf of the City of Plano; prepares and facilitates press releases; reviews all City publications, assisting in their development, creation and dissemination; coordinates City ceremonies (ribbon cuttings, ground breakings) and special announcements for the City of Plano and its departments.

The Department provides City-wide centralized communications via the City’s main telephone switchboard; coordinates Open Records requests, records and imaging needs of the City, creates and produces various documents through the Graphics Communication division and prepares written and video material for publication and presentation on the Department’s Emmy-award winning Plano Television Network.

The content and design of the City of Plano webpage is produced, planned and coordinated through this office.
