Development Review
Development Review is responsible for all current planning activities. Planners are responsible for plan review and presentation and recommendation to the Planning & Zoning Commission. The Development Review Division ensures that development occurs in a responsible, orderly fashion and that it adheres to current guidelines set by the city. |

Geographic Information System (GIS)
GIS is a computer system designed to do mapping and mapping analysis. The GIS Division maintains mapping information and develops interactive mapping for the WEB as well as provides mapping and GIS support services for city staff. Community Services
The mission of Community Services is to preserve Plano's neighborhoods. To accomplish this, we work with residents and homeowners associations in preparing neighborhood plans to address their concerns. We provide low-cost rehabilitation loans to homeowners to help maintain their homes, and we provide financial assistance to help families who are purchasing their first home. In addition, the division provides staff support for the Community Relations Commission and is responsible for the Community Development Block Grant and Community Services Grants. |

Long Range Planning
The Long Range Planning Division is the primary staff group for future city planning, neighborhood planning, demographics, and heritage preservation. The division reports to the City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission on various matters. It is our responsibility to help the city's decision makers define and reach future expectations, while preserving key components of Plano's past. The division is responsible for maintaining and updating the Comprehensive Plan which guides future growth, development, and redevelopment of Plano. |
